Insertion… Lateral 1/3 of clavicle, acromion process, spine of scapula

Innervation… Accessory nerve

Blood Supply… Transverse cervical

Action… Elevates, retracts, and rotates scapula; lower fibers depress into scapula

Origin… T7-L5, thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, last 3 ribs

Insertion… Intertubercular sulcus of humerus

Innervation… Thoracodorsal nerve

Blood Supply… Thoracodorsal artery

Action… Extends, adducts and medially rotates humerus

Innervation… Anterior rami of C3-C4, dorsal scapular nerve

Blood Supply… dorsal scapular artery, transverse cervical, ascending cervical artery

Action… elevates scapula medially, inferiorly rotates glenoid fossa
