*Poverty can lead to under-nutrition and reduced functioning of the immune system, leading to illness. Resulting in children missing school and adults unable to attend employment, contributing to poverty and social isolation, decreasing ability to form meaningful relationships.
LOW INCOME GENERATION
*Reduced access to education -> reduces opportunity for employment -> reduced income -> perpetuating the cycle of poverty not being able to afford food, water and healthcare or education for future children continuing the cycle
DISCRIMINATION
When a person or group of people are treated differently than other people, often a result of facts such as race, religion, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity.
-Discrimination can lead to psychological distress from bullying.
DISCRIMINATION EG
*sex-based discrimination -> can lead to unemployment or social exclusion. Individuals feel as if they are not a functioning member of society -> descreases sense of belonging in society.
