Suffrage
the means by which the people choose their
officials for a definite and fixed period and to whom
they entrust for the time being the exercise of the powers of government
Election

Regular Election
one held to fill a vacancy in office before the expiration of the full term for which the incumbent was elected
Special Election

the power of the people to propose amendments to the Constitution or to propose and enact legislation through an election called for the purpose.
