Explain the Bordeaux/Sud Ouest wine war.
Romans planted vines in Sud Ouest first and at the time the climate favoured these growing conditions allowing them to harvest and produce their wines before Bordeaux. Laws were made in the 13th/14th century to stall the Sud Ouest wine at Bordeaux ports until Bordeaux wine had been sold first. The Sud Ouest suffered.
