Auscultation

A

Demonstrate each osculatory point on anterior and posterior chest
VERBALIZE-
1) using the diaphragm of stethoscope placed firmly on uncovered skin
2) comparing side-to-side
3) instructing the client to breathe slightly slower and deeper than normal, with the mouth open
4) listening to one full inspiration and expiration in each location
5) avoiding breast bone and tissue, placing the stethoscope in the intercostal spaces
