What happened in Vilna?

A

Vilna was the capitol of the new country Lithuania which used to be part of the Austrian-Hungarian empire, so there were lots of Polish people living there.
So Poland wanted Vilna and invaded.
Lithuania asked the league for help.
The league asked Poland to remove their troops.
Poland ignored them and no further actions as taken because the league did not want to upset Poland and wanted to keep them as an ally.

The Aaland islands were lots of small islands between Sweden and Finland which both countries wanted.
They both went to the league claiming they had ownership over them.
The league have them to Finland as long as they did not use them as a military base.
Both countries agreed.

A

Both Germany and Poland wanted claim over upper Silesia because it was a rich, industrial area.
A plebiscite was held and the results were 60% of the votes were pro German.
The league gave most of the land to Germany but Poland got the rich industrial areas.
Both countries accepted this result but it created tension.

What happened in Corfu?

A

After ww1 the border between Greece and Albania was still not decided so the league sent some Italian soldiers and officer, Tellini to surgery the area.
They were murdered in the area.
Mussolini demanded compensation but the greek government refused.
Italy invaded the Greek island of corfu.
The league verbally condemned Italy, who told them to stay out of it or Italy would leave the league.
Mussolini went to a different organisation.
Mussolini was condescended but Greece was made to apologise for the murder and pay compensation.
