Subtask 10.1.3 Operate Engines Flashcards
What type of engine does the ERJ have?
GE CF34-8E5 high bypass, dual rotor turbofan, controlled via dual channel FADEC
When will the thrust modes automatically change?
• TO to CLB
Landing gear retracted, airplane above 400’ AGL, any change in vertical mode
•CLB to CRZ
Airplane is level at preselected altitude for 90 s, airspeed within 5 kts (.01M) from preselected
• CON
Automatically if engine fails >= 3,000’ AGL
•CRZ to GA
Flaps are > 0 and gear down
OR
When TOGA is pressed
What is ATTCS?
Automatic takeoff thrust control system. When enabled, will command higher thrust in various phases of flight
When will ATTCS engage?
•T/O dataset menu set to ON, Thrust levers are at TO/GA position, difference between N1 >15%
•T/O dataset menu set to ON, Thrust levers are at TO/GA position, one engine failure during T/O
• T/O dataset menu set to ON, Thrust levers are at TO/GA position, one engine failure during GA
• T/O dataset menu set to ON, Thrust levers are at TO/GA position, windshear detection
NOTE: RSV mode is manually engaged by moving thrust levers to MAX position
Recite engine abnormal start memory items.
AFFECTED ENGINE: START/STOP SELECTOR……………………………………………………….. STOP
When will FADEC automatically abort an engine start?
FADEC automatically aborts an engine start for hot start, hung start, no light off
Hot start= ITT exceeds start limit (815c)
*Hung start= N1 and/or N2 failing to accelerate to stable idle speed
*No light off= No ITT indication within 30s after initiation of fuel flow
