Subtask 10.1.12 Operate Flight Instruments Flashcards
Define green dot. What are all the uses of green dot?
Altitude, speed (in Mach), Slat/Flap position and weight from the FMS are used to compute the green dot.
• 1.3g over stick shaker speed
• 40 degree bank angle, for wings leveled condition during any flight phase and Slat/flap setting
• Driftdown speed (Slat/Flap UP)
• Ideal Slat/Flap extension speed
• Green dot +10 is flap retraction
NOTE:
green dot accounts for ice accretion
green dot does not account for speed brakes actuation
in case of STALL PROT FAIL, green dot is removed
in case of loss of IAS, Slat/Flap position, or position disagreement then no green dot
Recite autopilot limitations.
Minimum engagement height = 400’ AGL Minimum disengage height = 50’ HAT
Understand ADS (automatic reversion).
3 rules:
1) airplane doesn’t care about the MFD. If you lose an MFD screen (2or4), they just go dark.
2) Airplane wants you to have a PFD and EICAS. If possible it wants both pilots to have a PFD and one EICAS.
3) If it Must choose with only one PFD, it will usually give it to the left side, CP (ERJ thinks CP is flying in an emer).
