Engines have eight pneumatic fire detectors. Two loops per engine.

Both fire handle lights APU EMER shut off button light bar red Both cargo smoke light bars red APU bottle light bar Master warning lights on both sides Fire bell and triple chime master warning ENG FIRE 1 ENG FIRE 2 CARGO FWD SMOKE CARGO AFT SMOKE APU FIRE FIRE.... on both ITT gauges.
Cargo smoke buttons work how in the air?
In flight with detection… Push once and blows rapid bottle… One minute later the slow leak bottle starts and discharges for one hour…
In flight no detection….. Three pushes….. First arms, second blows fast rate and third blows slow rate.
How do the cargo smoke buttons work on the ground?
With an indication, two pushes… Push one fires the fast rate bottle
Push two fires the slow rate.
Without an indication…. Three pushes…. One arms the high rate bottle… Two blows the high rate bottle an arms slow rate… Three blows the slow rate.

What happens when a fire handle is pulled?
The fuel shut off valve closes
The hydraulic SOV closes
The bleed air SOV closes.
Indications of an APU fire?
Fire bell
APU FIRE EICAS message
Red stripe light on APU EMER STOP button
Will APU auto shut off with fire indication?
On ground only
What happens if the APU EMER STOP button is pushed after a fire has been detected?
APU fuel SOV closes.
APU shut down immediately without a one minute cool down.
APU FIRE EXTG button illuminates.
What happens if the APU EMER STOP button is not pushed after a fire has been detected?
After one minute the APU FIRE EXTG button illuminates.
Will APU fire bottle discharge automatically?
No
