What was the Rowlatt Act 1919 also known as? What was its objective? It’s aim?
It was known as the Black Act. It empowered the british to imprison anyone without a trial and to search any place without a warrant.
Its aim was to curb the growing nationalist upsurge in India.

Khilafat Movement was started by whom? and what was it?
Dr Ansari, Abdul Kalam Azad, Hakim Ajmal Khan. It was an Islamic political protest by the muslims in british india. The muslims wanted to influence the british and wanted to protect the ottoman empire during the aftermath of the 1st world war.
What was the non-cooperation movement?
To mobilize the indian masses to peacefully resist the british rule through non-cooperation with british policies, laws and institutions.
Describe the Chauri Chaura Incident
Took place on 4th feb 1922. The members of the non-cooperation movement were angered and clashed with the police of the british govt resulting in the death of 22 policemen. MG was sad and called off the non cooperation movement.
The swaraj Party?
Founded in 1923 by CR Das n motilal Nehru. Its objective was contesting elections and to enter the legislative councils formed by the montagu-chelmsford reforms.
Constructive Programme?
The people who stayed in INC started this. It was led by MG. This boycotted legislative councils. It had 3 agendas : spinning khadi, hindu muslim unity and removal of untouchability.
