Structure & Type of Synovial Joints Flashcards
What are the Synovial Joints?
Type of Joint commonly found in the limbs ; contains a Synovial Membrane that produces Synovial Fluid.
Synovial Joints order?
Muscle
Bursae
Synovial Membrane
Synovial Fluid
Joint Capsule
Tendon
Bone Marrow
Head of Bone
Cartilage
Ligament
What does the Joint Capsule do?
Creates stability.
What does the Synovial Membrane do?
Produces Synovial Fluid.
What does Synovial Fluid do?
Found in the Joint Cavity that lubricates or “oils” the joint so it moves smoothly.
What does the Cartilage do?
Covers the ends of Bones which cushions the Joint. which prevents friction from the bones rubbing together and absorbs shock.
What is the Bursae?
A fluid-filled bag that haloed reduce friction from movement of Tendons across the surface at the Joint.
What are the Ligaments?
Joins Bone to Bone and strengthens the Joint to prevent unnecessary movement and dislocation.
