Structure Relations Pectoral Region Flashcards
The platysma muscle is superficial to the
clavicle
The cephalic vein is found in between the
deltoid and the clavicular head of the pectoralis major muscle (delto-pectoral groove)
The medial pectoral nerve
pierces the pectoralis minor as it approaches the deep aspect of the sternocostal head of the pectoralis major muscle
The lateral pectoral nerve
innervates the deep aspect of the clavicular head of the pectoralis major muscle
(does not pierce the pec minor)
The thoracoacromial trunk passes
medial to the pectoralis major muscle
What artery does the thoracoacromial trunk come off of?
The axillary artery (which is a continuation of the subclavian artery)
What branches off of the thoracoacromial trunk and is deep to the pectoralis major muscle
the pectoral branch of the thoracoacromial artery
The pectoralis minor muscle is deep to the
pectoralis major muscle
