What is the larynx?
connects the trachea to the back of the nose, making an air passage

tubes that have rings of cartilage along them to stop them from collapsing and maintain an open airway

the bronchioles are stem from the bronchi
what is the function of the alveoli?
A single sac of alveoli is called an alveolus. they allow for carbon dioxide to exchange through the alveolar membrane
What is the diaphragm?
The diaphragm is a muscle anchored to the lower rib that separates the chest from the abdomen
What are the intercostal muscles
Muscles found between the ribs
What is the purpose of the pleural membrane?
The pleural membrane covers the outside of the lungs and lines the inside of the chest wall
