• a test tube of Starch solution is placed in a water bath of set temperature
• a solution of Amylase enzyme is added into a test tube of starch solution and a buffer solution of set pH is added
• a pipette is used to add droplets of mixture into wells on tile and a few drops of Iodine solution are added
• the time taken for starch to be completely broken down is compared to that of each respective pH
