Pt prereqs:

  • Not having an active bleed
  • No stroke or surgery in last 3 months
  • No Significant trauma
  • 2 sites of IV access
Thrombolytics
-Anistrplase
-Retiplase
Streptase
-t-Pa

Anticoagulants

  • Heparin/warfarin
  • Xarelto
  • Eliquis
  • Lovenox

Antiplatelet:
-Plavix

Antiepileptics (Lorazepam)
Ca channel blockers

Stool softeners (no bearing down)

Analgesics for pain

Antianxiety drugs

  • Carotid angioplasty w/stent (scrapes plaque out)
  • Endarterectomy
  • Clipping of aneurysms
  • craniotomy: remove clots, relieve pressure
  • Extracranial-intracranial bypass
