What is the frontal responsible for?
reasoning, judgement
What is the Parietal responsible for?
motor, sensory
What is the Cerebellum responsible for?
balance, posture
What is the Brainstem responsible for?
medulla controls resps and HR
What is the Occipital responsible for?

Describe the pathophysiology of stroke
Complete interruption of cerebral blood flow to obstruction/rupture of artery supplying blood to the brain
What are the 2 classifications of stroke?
Transient ischaemic attack (TIA) Subarachnoid Haemorrhage (SAH)
What is TIA?
Acute loss of cerebral, ocular function with symptoms lasting less than 24 hours due to inadequate blood supply to the brain.
What are the two types of stroke associated with TIA?
thrombotic stroke
embolic stroke
what is a thrombotic stroke?
Blood clot blocks flow to the brain
what is an embolic stroke?
blood clot breaks away and blocks cerebral artery to brain
What is Subarachnoid Haemorrhage?
rupture of vessels in subarachnoid space. Intracranial haemorrhage - rupture of vessels into brain substance
What is the treatment for suspected TIA?
aspirin 300mg stat
