  1. amygdala sends a signal to the hypothalamus. Adrenaline circulates in the blood activating various organs to prepare the body for action.
  2. hypothalamus stimulates the nearby pituitary gland to initiate a process for secretion of cortisol. parasympathetic nervous system returns body to homeostasis
