how a genetic vulnerability (nature) can be triggered by an individuals environment (Nurture).

why do people react to stress differently?
A
Some people are born with a genetic predisposition to mental illness, but they may never develop any mental illness because their lives are not stressful

what can cause this stress?
A
High levels of stress caused by family conflict, trauma, abuse could trigger the onset for those with a predisposition
