Strengths/Weaknesses Questions Flashcards

1
Q

In your last internship/experience, what feedback did you receive?

A
  • Variant of strengths/weaknesses

Previous employers have said that they enjoyed my work ethic, ambition, and drive to deliver to high standards. They liked my attentiveness to detail and desire to go beyond what was asked of me.

Some things they said I could improve on were my communication and that I was occasionally forgetful. I’ve been trying to improve my communication by providing more updates to my team members and being more open to spending extra time with them, and I’ve addressed by occasional forgetfulness by keeping very thorough calendars and reminders to keep myself in check throughout the day

Q

Imagine your best friend is describing you in 3 words. Which words would they use and why?

A

Conscientious
- I always take great care to make sure I do a good job and I feel uneasy completing a piece of work if it’s not completed as well as I know I can complete it

Easygoing
- I take things as they come to me and I try to find ways of doing what I need to do in spite of situations instead of wasting time dwelling on them

Unrelentingly Honest
- I’m extremely honest about things to both others and to myself as I feel like not being fully honest is a waste of time and people will find out the honest truth eventually

Q

Imagine I’m speaking to someone with whom you have not gotten along with in the past. What would they say about you?

A

They would likely say that I could improve my communication skills and express my ideas in a more clear and concise manner. I’ve improved in this aspect by being more conscious/aware of how people will interpret or process what I’m saying and tailoring what I say accordingly.

Q

We should we hire you in 3 sentences?

A

I’m intellectual enough to do the work because of my time at Berkeley, I have the capability for this kind of work because of my previous search fund internship as well as my consulting experiences, and I’d make a good addition to a team because of my dual-degree in Chemistry and my personality

Q

What was your greatest failure?

A

The way I lived my life during my first semester of college would have to be my greatest failure. I was very complacent coming from high school and not at all prepared for the pace or rigor of college. However, I learned a lot that semester and that failure has revolutionized the way I approach my day, instilled more discipline in my life, and allowed me to be more successful and efficient.
