How do you ‘streak out’ a bacteria colony?

A

Flame a wire loop

Using the loop pick up a single colony and then streak it on to the fresh agar plate by using a back and forward movement

First draw two lines then streak out for a couple lines

Turn the agar plate and repeat the process making sure you overlap each side

What should you do after streaking out your colony?

A

You need to incubate your plate at whatever temperature is required (usually at 37 degrees)
