Waste minimisation aims to reduce waste from all of its resources, materials, labour and time. By doing this you reduce the costs associated with producing the good or service, are more likely to meet the needs of the customer, and are likely to improve customer reputation both through quality output and reputation. All of these should lead to lower costs, increased sales which should lead to increased profits and market share and in turn fulfil shareholder expectations, and will also fulfil the market and social need of producing quality products with less wastage.

-inventory (avoiding excess storage of inventory or raw materials)
-motion (reduce movement of workers, parts and products)

-over processing (removing processes that add little value)
