Guttural pouch wash
Blood testing
What are the treatment for strangles
Supportive care
Anti-inflammatory drugs
Antibiotics occasionally - not really effective
Isolation
Vaccination - not widely used
How to control spread of strangles
Vaccination
Test/quarantine
Reduce cross contamination of horses
Extra care/caution on young/immune compromised horses
