StorageGrid Solution Flashcards
What is Storage Grid?
SG system is a software defined object based solution for rich content. That is scalable.
What is it used for
Large achieves, Media repositories, web data stores and AI learning (data lakes)
How does it work
Clients create objects and send them to the storageGrid system using the S3 protocol API
What is an object?

The storageGrid Grid is?
A single site or multi site of storage grid nodes.
What is StorageGrid’s capacity
300 Billon objects, over max 16 sites
How do clients access the data?
They access using the amazon s3 protocol. Each API uses the HTTP commands (GET and PUT).
Why are Tenant accounts useful
They allow you to isolate data on the same StorageGrid system to individual Tenants.
What is ILM
Information LifeCycle Management. Determines how the storageGrid system manages copies over time. There are different ILM rules, what is controlled, where it sits, and changes to retention.
What are the two components of an object
Meta data, and data
To which StorageGrid system component do S3 buckets belong?
Tenant
