What sizes/types of glass should be used for Red, White, Fortified, and Sparkling wines? Why?
Red: Larger - so that oxygen can interact with a larger surface of wine to develop the aromas and flavors
White: Medium - so that the aromas can be channeled better
Fortified: Small - because of their higher alcohol content, but large enough to allow swirling and nosing
Sparkling: Flute - to allow the bubbles to pass through a greater volume of wine and collect more aromas before reaching the top of the glass
What temperature should Sweet wines be served at?
6 to 8 degrees Celsius
What temperature should Sparkling wines be served at?
6 to 10 degrees Celsius
What temperature should Light-bodied White wines be served at?
7 to 10 degrees Celsius
