What does volatile memory mean
Volatile memory/storage is when the power to the component is switched off, it loses all data
For example the RAM - it only holds running programs
what is ROM memory
its Read Only Memory , it contains the operating system and it contains the bios too and it opens the OS from storage into ram

Advantages and disadvantages of Magnetic storage
HDD are not very durable , noisy heavy large and can break easily and u can lose the data
Reliable with large capacity
Advantages and disadvantages of Optical storage
Advantages- portable and cheap
Disadvantages - low capacity not durable slow
Advantages and disadvantages of Solid state
Advantages - quick read and write speeds, durable no moving parts
Disadvantages - expensive
How does a magnetic hard disk work
Disk spinning at rates of around 5400 and 15000 RPM
data stored magnetically as binary on small areas called sectors - Data track split into sectors
Read and Write arm with a head that can move
