What is the cpu and what does it do?
the cpu is the central processing unit and it processes all the data and instructions,
What are the 6 parts of the cpu
The control unit , arithmetic control unit , Cache , Clock and buses and various registers
What does the control unit do in the cpu
The control unit has overall control over the CPU and it manages the fetching , decoding and excecution of program instructions
It also controls the flow of data in and out the CPU
What does Cache do
the cache is responsible for storing regularly used data so the Cpu can access it quickly
What does the clock do
the clock synchronises instructions like a metronome
what do buses do ?
Buses are collections of wires used to transmit data between components of the cpu
what do registers do
They temporarily hold bits of data needed by the cpu and they are very fast if not the fastest
