Q

In low light what do guard cells do?

A
  • In lower light the guard cells lose water and become flaccid causing the stomata to close up.

Q

What does the turgid property benefit to the plant?

A
  • It supports the weight of the plant which is especially important considering there is no wood like tissue.
  • If the plant looses water faster it can be absorbed, meaning the cells then lose turgor pressure and become flaccid.
  • This results in wilting
