Q

What is the difference between theoretical and actual yield?

A

Theoretical yield - is the amount of product that would result of all the limiting reagent reacted.
Actual yield - is the amount of product actually obtained from a reaction.
The difference between the 2 multiplied by 100 will give the percentage yield.

Q

What is a chemical reaction?

A

A process that leads to the transformation of one set of chemical substances to another. Involves changes that only involve the positions of electrons and breaking of chemical bonds between atoms.
