Rough sawn
A
Wood comes directly from seasoning and has rough surfaces. Has nominal sizes rather than accurate finished sizes.

Planned square edge
A
Wood has only one edge that is planned accurately, the rest are rough sawn. The planned edge will be approx 3mm less than the rough sawn measurement.

Planned all round
A
Wood has all sides and edges that are all planned square edge straight and level, leaving a Smooth finish, and is ready to use. 3mm smaller all round than rough sawn.

Natural wood
A
Only available in a maximum width of the tree.

manufactured boards
A
Available in longer wider boards. They are not affected by temperature or humidity

Mouldings
A
Skirting boards or wooden trims and are generally readily available is standard lengths up to 4 metres.
