What is a suture ?
It is a strand of any material used for:
- Ligating blood vessels
- Holding skin in place (Transfixing)
- Bring tissue near (Approximating)
What are is the main advatnage and disadvantage of non-absorbable sutures?
- Advantage = Permanent wound support
- Disadvantage = Foreign body left
