Sterile Field Set Up

6 initial steps in setting up the sterile field

1) wash hands
2) confirm ITCA 650 is for proper patient
3) open placement/removal kit
4) remove set aside items. With exception of sterile field drape, these items will not be placed on the sterile field
5) prepare sterile field as close to possible to the time of use
- clean surface with disinfectant cleaner/alcohol and place sterile drape across
6) remove sterile field items from their plastic bags and place in sterile field using aseptic technique

Placement tool and ITCA 650 are final two items added to field

6) lift metal ring and pull straight down
7) peel metal collar away from cap and discard
8) use alcohol prep pad to remove stopper from glass vial
9) drop ITCA 650 onto sterile field
