What is the difference between a band 6 and a band 7?
A
- Increased clinical mileage with complex patients
- Buck stops with you as a band 7
- ESPs and APPs are usually the ones to turn to when you are presented with a problem, however band 7s have a bigger clinical presence, are more freely available and also more approachable.
- Highly confident with Red flags and urgent problem pathways
- Higher level of responsibility: leadership, research, audit, service development
- You are a team leader so have more people management
- Day to day decisions fall to you
- Engage in discussions with and develop relationships with people you may have previously found daunting (consultants)
- Reduced support
- Increased departmental presence
- Specialised Ax and Rx skills
