Explain why the leaf of a tree appears green when you see it.
It reflects the green part of the light and absorbs the rest.
A blue light is shining on a blue ball. What color will the ball appear? Explain.
Blue because it does not absorb the color blue. The color blue will be reflected to our eyes.
A green light is shining on a red apple. What color will the red apple appear?
Black because it absorbs the green light reaching it and reflects none. No light will reach our eyes from the apple.
You are going to Great America on a hot, sunny, summer day. Would you want to wear a tan or black shirt? Explain.
The tan shirt because it will be lighter . The black shirt would absorb more sunlight which will increase the temperature.

If you were to mix a green light with a red light what will happen to the light?
The two colors of light will be brighter because it is made of more than one color of light.
You are doing an experiment on how plants grow with different color lights. You will have a plant under a green light and one under a blue light. Which light will help the plant grow more?
The blue light because the blue light will be absorbed, while the green light will be reflected because the plant is green.

The brighter the color the more colors that are mixed in it.

The combination of all colors.

What does black mean?
Black is the absence of light reaching your eyes.
