IQ can be Positive or Negative

- can be + and -
- for 1 with low IQ has 1 with high IQ
- don’t think of 1 with high IQ is abnormal
- being unusual at one end does not make them abnormal
- s.i. should not be the sole reason for clinical diagnosis as there could be no need for treatment

A
- labelling can be both positive and negative
- labelled with low IQ could help by getting the necessary help
- feel ashamed by social stigma and conform to self-fulfulling prophecy
- effects of being diagnosed abnormal are subjective
- s.i. not good if there is mostly neg. consequences
