What is a station overrun incident?
When a train is stopped incorrectly at a station platform, so that the whole of the train is not on the platform.
What brake step must you apply for an overrun?
The emergency brake.
During an overrun incident, what type of movement requires the signaller’s permission?
A wrong direction movement.
After an overrun, how many meters beyond the platform do you need to be in order to return to the platform?
400 meters.
Whose permission do you need to return to the platform?
The signaller.
When you have been given permission, who do you inform?
The guard.
When making a movement in the wrong direction, what must you change on the train?
You must change ends.
If the wrong direction movement is less than 400 meters, do you need to change the end lighting?
No, you do not need to.
Before you carry out the movement, what must you make sure you do?
Ensure you carry out the movement safely without endangering anyone on the train or platform.
If you are passing over a level crossing, what must you check?
You must check that the crossing is clear.
