States of Matter Flashcards
What are the stages of matter?
Solid, liquid and gas. (Plasma is also one)
How do the molecules of solids look?
Tightly packed in a regular pattern. They cannot move.
How do the molecules of liquids look like?
Move more freely but don’t have a pattern. Still close together. They can easily move past each other. It can adapt to the shape of what is holding it.
How do the molecules of liquids look like?
Move more freely but don’t have a pattern. Still close together. They can easily move past each other. It assumes the shape of their containers.
How do the molecules of gas look like?
They move freely and are generally far away from each other. The assume the shapes of their containers
