Stanza Forms:
A
A stanza is equivalent to a paragraph in other types of writing. A stanza is a grouping of lines (one line of poetry is called a verse) of poetry.
These groupings have individual names and functions.

Two consecutive lines of rhymed poetry.

Quatrain:
A
A stanza containing four lines.

A stanza containing six lines.

A stanza containing eight lines.

A fourteen-line poem. The most common types are Italian and Shakespearean.
