Spinster, who did this to me The dress yellowing, trembling Cawing
Spinster
It stands alone, a one word sentance all alone like havisham
The word is spat out like a expletive as the ‘s’ is a spitting sound
Cawing
Havisham Is letting our animalistic sounds the writer dehumanises havisham as she is so over come with the powerful emotion of hatred
The dress yellowing, trembling
‘yellowing’ furthers this idea of aging and being crept and fragile
the personification of the dress lets us know that it is slowly disintegrating very much like her mind due to the trauma she has faced
Slewed mirror
Her view on life has changed she now looks at the mirror and doesn’t recognize herself, hating what she has become
She has thrown the mirror as she can no longer look at herself and instead turns violent with the sight she has seen

Stanza 2 reveals havisham doesn’t just hate the man who jilted but also some hatred is directed to herself too
in this stanza we start to feel sorry for havisham as we sympathize with her due to her having lost herself and circum to her emotions and they have poisoned her life
