EMT/2nd Medic: Tasks with First Engine
(advise command he/she is tasking with 1st Engine)
First Truck Residential
Rescue/VES (If indicated), *Top Vent (if indicated), Forcible Entry, Search, Locate Hidden Fire, Salvage
(Truck Positioning: for best advantage
Primary: is considered a function of search and results are to be reported to command)
X-Ray Residential
360, Secondary egress, Ladder Building, Secure Utilities
Vent & K12 Saws: brought to Curb side of 1st Engine
Second Engine Residential
Water supply, Second line for interior or backup/exposure
Advise Hydrant Location ASAP
Third Engine Residential
Proactive RIT (Assemble R.I.T. equipment, Obtain IC Report, Physical 360⁰ and Side “C” report, Assess fire progress & Building construction)
Squad Residential
PPV, Lights, Rehab, Logistics
First DC Residential
Assumes Incident Command
LR Residential
Accountability, Safety, Medical (if indicated)
Fast Attack
Offensive attack involves an initial interior operations, early stages of fire development
Transitional Attack
Offensive attack knocking down body of fire from the exterior then transitioning interior to extinguish
Defensive Attack
Attack that focuses on confinement and extinguishment from a safe exterior position
Second DC Residential
Report to Command
Second Rescue Residential
Assignment as needed, medical, rehab
If unassigned: report in Full PPE to Accountability Engine
