Standing Flashcards

2
Q
Injury in fact
A
The injury must be concrete and particularized.
3
Q
Causation
A
The plaintiff must show the injury traces to the defendant’s acts.
4
Q
Redressability
A
It must be likely that a favorable court decision will eliminate the grievance
5
Q
Mootness
A
There must be a live controversy at all review stages.
6

Ripeness
A
Ripeness refers to the readiness of a case for litigation. A federal court will not consider a claim before it fully develops; to do is premature, and any potential injury speculative.
