- standardised means the same- all ppts r given same list of instructions to follow
- use of SI has been attributed to helping psychology to be considered more ‘scientific’ as it introduces an element of control
- steps must be in order, clear n incl elements such as time n materials needed

- u will need to debrief ur ppts at end of exp
- obliged to follow as part of ethical guidelines
- failure to debrief can cause further harm n u can face repercussions

- failure to correctly credit any work is considered plagiarism
- in psychology the ‘APA’ referencing system is mostly used, but there r other systems eg harvard system
- layout of a reference differs slightly depending on both on system used n type of work being credited eg journal article or book
