  • use of SI has been attributed to helping psychology to be considered more ‘scientific’ as it introduces an element of control

  • obliged to follow as part of ethical guidelines
  • failure to debrief can cause further harm n u can face repercussions

  • u must credit any research u have used in ur study, eg in ur intro or discussion
  • failure to correctly credit any work is considered plagiarism
  • in psychology the ‘APA’ referencing system is mostly used, but there r other systems eg harvard system
  • layout of a reference differs slightly depending on both on system used n type of work being credited eg journal article or book
