Stalls Acs Flashcards

1
Q

Accelerated stalls

A

Select an entry altitude to allow the task to be completed no lower than 3000 feet AGL

Set power, so that the airspeed does not exceed Va

Establish and maintain according to turn in a 45° bank, increasing elevator, back pressure, smoothly, and verbally, until impending stall is reached

Recover by lowering angle of attack then going wings level

Q

Slow flight

A

Must be able to recover from the maneuver about 1500 feet

Commercial:
Maintain the specified altitude, ±50 feet; specified heading, ±10°; airspeed, +5/-0 knots;
and specified angle of bank, ±5°.

Private:
Maintain the specified altitude, ±100 feet; specified heading, ±10°; airspeed, +10/-0 knots;
and specified angle of bank, ±10°.

Power off stall’s

A

Select an entry altitude that will allow the Task to be completed no lower than 1,500 feet AGL
Configure the airplane in the approach or landing configuration, as specified by the
evaluator, and maintain coordinated flight throughout the maneuver.
Establish a stabilized descent.
Transition smoothly from the approach or landing attitude to a pitch attitude that will induce a stall.
Commercial:
Maintain a specified heading, ±10° if in straight flight; maintain a specified angle of bank
not to exceed 20°, ±5°, if in turning flight, until an impending or full stall occurs.

Private:

Maintain a specified heading ±10° if in straight flight; maintain a specified angle of bank not
to exceed 20°, ±10° if in turning flight, while inducing the stall.
Acknowledge cues of the impending stall and then recover promptly after a full stall occurs.

Power on Stalls

A

Commercial:
Maintain a specified heading ±10° if in straight flight; maintain a specified angle of bank
not to exceed 20°, ±10° if in turning flight, until an impending or full stall is reached, as
specified by the evaluator.

Private:
Maintain a specified heading ±10° if in straight flight; maintain a specified angle of bank
not to exceed 20°, ±10° if in turning flight, while inducing the stall.

Q

Cross control Stall

A

Must allow for recovery no lower than 3000 feet AGL

What is power to 1500 RPM, maintain altitude as a speed decreases at 65 kn, reduce power to idle.
Stabilize the scent, maintaining 65 knots power off glide
Watch establishing the descent bank 30° in either direction
Established in the turn, smoothly, apply full rudder pressure in the direction of the turn.
Maintain the banking angle by applying for opposite aileron pressure. While simultaneously increase full back pressure on the . yoke to keep the nose from dropping.

Recover by reducing the angle of attack while simultaneously relieving control pressures. Add full power return to straighten level flight with minimum loss of altitude.

Q

Elevator Trim stalls

A

Two rolls of trim, then act like you are entering a power offs, all dirty configuration. Then add full throttle and allow the airplane to pick up above the normal climbing attitude, announce first indication of stall and recover promptly.

Q

Secondary stall

A

Clean configurations, reduce power to 1200 RPM and maintain altitude as air speed decreases stabilize decent for approximately 3 to 5 seconds, reduce power to idle.
Transition to a pitch attitude that will induce a stall and straight, turning flight, not to exceed 20° + or -10° has airplane stalls, maintain and/or, increase back elevator pressure as necessary to reduce secondary stall.

Dirty configurations:
Reduce power to 1500 RPM to maintain altitude is airspeed decreases
Select flaps 10° below 85 kn select flops 20° and 30°
Reduce power to idle
Transition to a pitch out of them to say star in straight or turning flight not to exceed 20° plus or -10° as airplane stalls. Maintain or increase back elevator pressure as necessary to do secondary stall recover promptly at first indication of secondary stall
