What are the four stages of attachment they identified#?
- Asocial stage
- Indiscriminate attachmet stage
- Specific attachment stage
- Multiple attachment stage
What is the Asocial stage?
From 0-5 weeks old. Infant will show similar responses to objects and people. Show no preference to specific people but at end of stage show preference for social stimuli.
What is the Indiscriminate attachment stage?
From 6 weeks to 7 months. babies become more social, tell people apart and have a prefernce for human company. Do not show any stranger anxiety.
What is the specific attachment stage?
From 7 to 11 months. infants show seperation anxiety and stanger anxiety. Show strong preference to one individual.
What is the Multiple Attachment Stage?
Baby now makes several attachments to important people in their life. They show seperation anxiety in secondary attachemnts.
