Q

It can be criticised as being ethnocentric.

A

This is due to the fact that most of the research has been conducted in the Western world. This means it may only apply to individualstic cultures where sterotypical gender roles are diffrernet from those on colectivist cultures. This means that the role of fathers may not be applicable to other cultures.
