What is a spin?
An aggravated stall with yaw, roll and auto rotation
What must be present for a spin to occur?
A stall, and a side slip or yaw acting on the plane
When is a spin most likely to occur?
Turn from base to final, engine failure on takeoff or approach, go-around with nose up trim or improper flap retracting
4 phases of a spin
- Entry- forces are applied
- Incipient- 1st 2 turns while forces not in equilibrium
- Fully Developed- Equilibrium
- Recovery- Apply corrective forces
Can you adjust flaps after 200’ AGL?
No…flaps set approach stabilized

- 17 years old
