Stage 2 Oxygen Flashcards
(19 cards)
Constituents of Oxygen system?
1) Cockpit based
2) Cabin Based
3) portable
What does the cockpit based oxygen system consist of? 5 items
1) Oxygen Cylinder
2) Pressure regulator
3) Two overpressure safety systems
4) Supply Solenoid
5) 3 Quick donning Masks
What is one consideration to be made regarding using the mask for the first time?
Thin sheet protecting the visor
What caution should be made if the pressure selector is maintained on emergency?
May deplete the oxygen cylinder
What does the CREW SUPPLY PB control?
The solenoid valve
What does pressing the REST button on the OXY mask do?
Disconnect the microphone and oxygen
When does the oxygen start flowing in the mask?
When the left mask stowage door flap is opened (the one that has the reset button)
What is the use of the overpressure button?
Eliminate condensation and prevent harmful gases and smoke to enter
When does the overpressure supply automatically start?
Above 30,000ft
Is Overpressure available when the N/100 selector is on Normal?
No
When is the ECAM CKPT OXY
boxed in amber/Green/Pulses Green/Amber? Ex ABM
-1000 PSI/ +600/ -600/ +300
When does the REG LOW PR come on ECAM?
When regulator press below 50
When do the cabin oxygen masks drop? Can it be overridden?
CABIN ALT > 14000ft. Yes.
What caution should be known when cabin oxygen generators activate?
The reaction is exothermic so may cause fumes associated with heat
How long may the cabin oxygen last?
13 / 15 / 22 minutes
What does OXY PAX ON in amber on ECAM mean?
That one or more CPC didn’t detect excessive CABIN ALT with the cabin masks down
How long does the smoke hood operate?
about 15 mins
How long should the Minimum bottle pressure cover?
Most demanding of:
1) Emergency Descent for 22min (N)
2) Cruize FL100 98 mins (N)
3) 100% for 15min at 8000’
ABY Fleet (2019) Oxygen system differences?
1) A320: ABM has more oxygen capacity and chemically generated smoke hood than the bottled on the rest of fleet
2) A321: Utilizes two oxygen bottles
