Who were the Vikings?
A
People who raided, pirated, traded, and settled throughout Europe.

Where did they come from?
A
Vikings came from Scandinavia, which is now 3 different countries; Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.

When did they live?
A
They became a part of history in AD789, when 3 of their ships landed on the south of England. 4 years later, they attacked the monastery at Lindesfarne.

What were they called?
A
They called themselves Norsemen, or Danes. The word ‘viking’ was used to describe what they did.
