-Established a merchant association called ortogh to provide caravan tarde doe long distances- Merchants in this association pooled their resources together towards a single caravan. So the losses and profits for the caravans were shared by the merchants. When there were losses, they were shared amongst the merchants so no single merchant would be pitb out of business.
