SRCC Flashcards

1
Q

Spearmans rank correlation coefficent

A

Measures the strength of correlation between the rankings of two sets of data. SRCC can be used for numerical and non-numerical values. To calculate SRCC, you need to rank (order) the data in each set. Used for non-linear data

A

Measures the relationship between 2 sets of data values. PMCC can only be calculated for numerical values. Used for linear data.

Q

Which one is more likely to be stronger

A

SRCC is more likely to be stronger than PMCC as it is more likely for ranks to be equal than numerical data values
