What are the advantages of the Square keep castles?
Narrow stone stairs (so the soldiers can’t barge in)

Food, arms and ammunition were stored in here. Prisoners were kept here too.

This was used for very basic cooking. Most keeps had bigger kitchens in the Bailey.
Kitchen
Which room is being described? The largest and most important room in the keep. It was used by everyone for eating and meeting together.

These were above each other, and had a central drain which opened on the outside of the keep. The drains were kept small, so that attackers couldn’t get in that way.

The only room where The Lord and his family could be private. If someone was ill, or having a baby, then The Lord would lend them this room for some privacy.
